FORMAT-FOrecast and Roadmapping for MAnufacturing Technologies

The FORMAT research project aims at developing an innovative Forecasting Methodology supporting decision making in Manufacturing Industries.

The project has been funded under the aegis of the PEOPLE Marie Curie Actions –IAPP and started from January 2012 and ended with a final conference on 14-15 May 2015, in Politecnico di Milano, Italy.

OBJECTIVES
  • Develop an innovative Forecasting Methodology, backed by a web semantic IT tool, able to fulfill industrial needs and expectations, supporting decision making in Manufacturing Industries;

  • Define a methodology for technology forecasting able to adapt to the competences and skills of the analysts (shorten the learning curve);

  • Exploit the knowledge of domain experts to support forecasting analysis, yet bypassing their personal biases and prejudices;

  • Combine qualitative and quantitative analyses to support technology forecasting activities.
