The design of the product platforms (or Modular Product Design) is a strategic approach to the standardization of components, technology and processes to create a modular architecture that can be used. The main objective is to reduce costs, accelerate time-to-market and improve the efficiency of products derived from a common base, even in ambitious digital formats.
The approach is based on the analysis of the “capacity” requirements (what the product must address) and on the basis of its technical standardization, specially provided with software and services.
